Oaks Park has been “where the fun never ends” since 1905 and is among America's oldest continually operating amusement parks. In 1985, the Bollinger Family donated Oaks Amusement Park to the non-profit 501(c)(3) Oaks Park Association, which continues to operate the park. The purpose of the Oaks Park Association is to perpetuate and preserve this piece of Portland's history and to provide affordable family fun throughout the generations. The Roller Rink is described as famous coast-to-coast as the premier skating establishment in the U.S., is the oldest roller rink in the country, and has the largest skating floor west of the Mississippi. The antique Wurlitzer pipe organ is played on Thursday nights and during both sessions on Sundays. This event is made possible thanks to the support of Metro and the Federal Transportation Administration. Participants are asked to fill out a mandatory waiver before arrival, waivers for minors must be completed by a parent or guardian, and personal skates are welcome, subject to inspection.
