Tucker Maxon School has been operating since 1947. Its mission is to teach deaf and hearing children to listen, talk, learn, and achieve excellence together. The school reports an average 8:1 student-to-adult ratio. Preschool applicants must be at least age 3 by the first day of the school year, prospective students complete a two day visit as the final piece of the admission process, and new students have a two-week trial period. ASL is taught in an after school club and a playgroup.
