About
Playto Labs Robotics Summer Camp is a live online robotics summer camp where students build real robots at home using age-specific kits and curriculum. The program includes live, structured, hands-on Robotics & AI programs with 1:1 sessions with an expert mentor, and students build, code, and work on real-world problem-solving through real robotics projects. Participants can progress from their first working robot to advanced AI-powered innovation challenges and also have access to a free 1:1 live online class trial and a live online trial.
• Ages: 8–16 years old
• Schedule: Students attend live online classes in Pacific Time (PST/PDT) for Portland-area families.
Playto Labs Robotics Summer Camp offers multiple tracks, including Robotics Starter, Robotics Explorer, and Robotics Champion, along with a design-build-fly aeromodelling workshop conducted in a 6-hour format. Students build real-world projects, create real machines combining sensors, motors, and code, and can participate in robotics competitions. Robotics kits are shipped to the student’s home for continuous practice and can be used at home even after the sessions, with the latest robotics kits shipped for ongoing work beyond camp.
The program uses a proprietary robotics hardware platform built in-house with age-aligned hardware architecture, with no generic kits and no screen-only learning, and an engineered, age-appropriate curriculum with clear progression at every stage. It is described by Playto Labs as a structured engineering pathway, not a hobby program or screen-only coding class, and as a clear long-term engineering pathway where learning continues beyond camp. The program includes 1:1 live online robotics classes, personalized guidance, mentor feedback, progress tracking, transparent progress updates, reschedulable classes, adaptable pacing, and a dedicated relationship manager for parent support, along with 24×7 assistance for technical and learning needs.
Expert mentors have 10+ years of experience and have been trained across 500,000+ students globally, and students earn a recognized robotics certificate. Playto Labs and its parent organization Skyfi Labs are recognized and accredited by STEM.org. During the last 3 years, more than 2300 students of IIT Delhi participated in a 6-hour aeromodelling workshop in the design-build-fly format with the help of Skyfi Labs, the parent organization of Playto.
Many families in the Portland metro book a free trial each summer, and many families from Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Bethany, Cedar Mill, Gresham, Lake Oswego, and across the metro have already enrolled in Playto Labs. Students from Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area also join in the same time. One parent, Dr. Amrutha Rajesh, described initially thinking robotics for kids was just a fancy advertisement but, after attending the free session, understanding the concept and referring three colleagues. Another parent, Dave Andrew, stated that his son loves the Playto kit and sessions and that his son now shows more interest toward understanding science.
