About

The Community Ed Teen Program is part of Portland Community College’s Community Education department and offers a variety of dynamic and engaging educational experiences for students. The program features small class sizes and focuses on students having a good time while they immerse themselves in an intriguing subject. Teen summer camps and workshops in this program can be viewed online, and registration for these offerings begins May 28.

• Ages: 12–17 years old

Students need to create an account before registering for classes in the Community Ed Teen Program. They are strongly encouraged to fill out the Consent to Release form before registering, because program staff are unable to speak to anyone, including parents, about a student or their registration status unless there is a Consent to Release form on file. Intent to Register forms are processed on a first-come/first-served basis and are not complete until the parent or guardian has also signed the Liability Waiver. These forms can take up to two business days to process and should be sent in no later than two business days before the start of the class to help ensure a spot, and there are no waitlists for classes that are full. The Intent to Register form can be accessed on the program page once registration begins, and it is a request to Community Ed to register for a class rather than an automatic registration. The student and parent or guardian receive a confirmation email from Community Ed once they are registered into the class, generally within 1–2 business days. The intent to register form will be accessible starting Wednesday, May 28. Families cannot register through the normal PCC registration system for this program, and registration must be received before the first day of class, as on-site registrations will not be accepted.

Accessible Ed & Disability Resources coordinates disability-related accommodations for students in the Community Ed Teen Program. Portland Community College states that it is committed to creating a learning environment that meets the needs of its diverse population. The college’s leadership includes College President Bennings, who serves as the College President of Portland Community College. Portland Community College is identified as an Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity Institution, and PCC aims to enrich the community through lifelong learning.
