Vega Dance+Lab offers a range of dance classes, including Amapiano, Hip Hop, Heels Choreography, Stadium Jazz, Flirty Fundamentals Heels, Slink & Stretch, BurlyQ, Tease & Tone, Chair Classes, and Vega 360 “The Class,” where dancers learn show-stopping choreography from Vega 360 shows. Vega is a drop-in dance studio where the class schedule stays the same week to week, and teachers always teach routines from the very beginning so dancers can start at any time.
• Schedule: Hip Hop classes are offered on Mondays at 4:30 and Fridays at 4:30, Heels on Fridays at 6:30, Stadium Jazz on Wednesdays at 4:30, and Flirty Fundamentals Heels on Fridays at 5:30; Vega is a drop-in studio with a consistent weekly schedule.
• Price: The Vega Dance+Lab community class series is offered completely free of charge.
Vega 360 is an experience at Vega Dance+Lab where the studio is transformed into a boutique in-house performance venue, and the program creates and performs full-length dance productions in a unique and intimate setting where the show happens in front of the audience and all around them. For Heels Choreography class, participants may wear heels or not, are asked not to wear wedges or super tall heels, and are advised to wear clothing that makes them feel strong and confident, avoiding loose-fitting bottoms that may tangle and make it harder to focus on lines.
Almani is a native of Portland, Oregon, and has danced in the community for over 10 years, performing in numerous shows and events for Urban Arts Dance Company, Lyfe Dance Company, Fresh Vibe, the Portland Trailblazers, and others. Brironni has over a decade of experience teaching Step (body percussion) and Hip-Hop, including leading Zappos’ company dance team and teaching at multiple gyms and studios in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Vega Dance+Lab has been a proud sponsor of the Portland Winterhawks’ pro dance team, the Rosebuds, for nearly a decade. Vega Dance+Lab is also a proud sponsor of the Portland State Vikings Dance Team and has been working with the team for a few years, providing them with a space to practice and grow their sport. Vega Dance+Lab hosts a regular community class series designed to unite and elevate the rapidly growing dance community in Portland and to spotlight local talent, offering this series free of charge.
