Sunset Athletic Club Junior Tennis Programs and Camps offers junior tennis lessons, after school junior tennis lessons, group tennis lessons on Saturdays, summer junior tennis camps, and Friday junior tennis tournaments that include pizza and match play. The Junior Tennis Program uses foam balls coded by player level (Red, Orange, Green to Yellow), and group tennis classes are for young athletes of all levels, ages 6 and up. Players in Junior Tennis Summer Camps are grouped by levels, and Summer Camps for players of every level run all summer long.

• Schedule: After school junior tennis lessons on four days during the week, group tennis lessons on Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 4:45 pm, Friday junior tennis tournaments from 12:00 noon to 2:30 pm, and Junior Tennis Summer Camps 2026 running the weeks of June 22 through August 17, with options to attend from one to four days a week and sign-ups by full week of camp for all 4 days
• Price: Private lesson rates effective 1/1/2026 – Tennis Members: 1 Hour Private - $80; 45 min. Private - $70; 1/2 Hour Private - $45. Racquet/Health Members: 1 Hour Private - $82; 45 min. Private - $74; 1/2 Hour Private - $48. Non-Members: 1 Hour Private - $87; 45 min. Private - $77; 1/2 Hour Private - $51.
The program is led by USPTA certified teachers and USPTA Tennis Pros on staff. The leadership team includes Niren Lall (SAC Tennis Director, USPTA Tennis Pro), Michelle Aman (USPTA Tennis Pro), Tommy Edwards (USPTA Tennis Pro), Dao Her (USPTA Tennis Pro), Kristi Somers (USPTA Tennis Pro), Mitch McDaniels (USPTA Tennis Pro), and Atom Fjeldsted (USPTA Tennis Pro). Tommy Edwards’ accomplishments include being the 2022 Oregon State Tennis Championships Singles and Mixed Doubles Champion, the 2022 Eugene Open Singles and Men’s Doubles Champion, the 2019 Irvington Adidas Open Mixed Doubles Champion, earning three wins over NCAA D1 nationally ranked players, and being an OSAA State semi-finalist.
The club’s mission statement is that it constantly strives to provide opportunities for families to stay fit while having fun together, by providing a host of programs and activities for all ages and fitness levels. Many of the club’s members compete in tournaments locally and nationwide, and the club hosts USTA tournaments for adults and juniors every year. The program notes that there are no court fees at Sunset Athletic Club and that extra costs are lessons and ball machine rental, and it offers an Invitational High Level Juniors Class for tournament level players and High School Varsity level players, as well as Friday tournaments all year long when school is out, with pizza and match play.
