W1 Taekwondo describes itself as a Leadership Taekwondo academy with a foundation in Taekwondo from Korea. The program states that Taekwondo principles are used to encourage individual improvement and leadership. For kids and teens, the highest priority stated is character development and helping students benefit mentally, physically, and emotionally. The academy describes its culture as a “winning Taekwondo culture” that is impacting youth by pointing them in the right direction and encouraging them to discover their self-worth. The program states that it aims to empower youth and “equalize the playing field,” recognizing that individuals are unique and that working through disadvantages can become a strength in life. W1 Taekwondo offers services to families in Cedar Mill, Beaverton, and Bethany.

The leadership is headed by Master Adrian, who is described as a dedicated and skilled martial artist, leader, and coach. Testimonials describe Master Adrian as a fantastic teacher who is always willing to help students become better martial artists and as a very respected person. One parent reports that their daughter gained many skills in a short time and that Master Adrian focuses on both Taekwondo skills and behavioral skills. Another family with three children ages 5, 6, and 7 reports that their kids have made progress in skill and discipline and describes Master Adrian as both gentle and tough with the kids.
