XSTREAM Learning Center Camps

XSTREAM Learning Center Camps offers seasonal programs that include Summer Camp, Winter Camp, Spring Camp, and No School Day Camps, along with Morning Care and After Care during Spring Camp. Camp sessions feature specific themes and classes such as Jr Marine Engineering, Jr LEGO Robotics, Marine Engineering, Robotic Missions to Mars, Jr Industrial Engineering, Jr Scratch Makey Makey, Power and Energy, Lego Spike: RoboGames, Heroes Week, Electronic Game Design: Pong Game, Eco Heroes, Lego WeDo: Adventure Stories, Jr Mechanical: Widgets and Gadgets, Digging for Dinos, 3D Printing: Minecraft Creation, Amazing Race, Engineering Olympiad, Jr Mission to Mars, Jr Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Twisted Fairy Tales, Jr World Games Engineering, Orbiters and Landers, Hardware Engineering, Strategic Structures, Mechanical Engineering, Jr Civil: Fun Foundation, and Jr Engineers Electrified. The camps also include engaging and interactive STEM sessions, arts and music projects, and, as described in a parent testimonial, daily hikes or trips to a nearby park and time to sing and dance with a musician on Friday mornings.

XSTREAM Learning Center Camps operates as a Certified Childcare Center. The program’s curriculum, described as XSTREAM, includes Cross Cultural Communication, Science, Technology, Reading and Writing, Engineering, Arts and Music, and Mathematics, and is noted as a Mandarin-English dual immersion and STEM-based curriculum in preschool with half the day in English and half the day in Mandarin as described in a testimonial. Camps are run in cooperation with Engineering for Kids and include a focus on cross cultural communication and understanding and appreciation of the richness and diversity of different cultures.

XSTREAM Learning Center was founded in 2017, moved in May 2019 to a space twice the size of the original center, and has had a kindergarten program since 2021. The leadership team includes Emily Palmer (Founder and Owner), Helen (Director), Teacher Gao (Chinese Teacher and Sub-Director), Teacher Bi (Chinese and Music Teacher), and Teacher Laura (Preschool Teacher). The center states that its mission is to foster and build upon children’s natural curiosity about the world and how it works by giving them ample opportunity to explore a wide variety of subjects, find what interests them, and expand that into new directions, and that it believes the XSTREAM curriculum is the key for students to becoming contributing members of a high-tech, diverse, and highly connected society of the future.
