Metro Dance Academy

Metro Dance Academy offers classes in ballet, jazz, acro, contemporary, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, technique, Tiny Dancer, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Strength & Tech, Turns & Tricks, Improv, and Private Dance Lessons. The Tiny Dancer program includes ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop and uses engaging music and props in class. All but a few classes take part in Winter and Spring Showcases, and the studio describes itself as a place where the growth of dancers is the main focus and where dancers can learn proper technique and step outside the box to become true artists.

Metro Dance Academy opened in 2011. It operates under the umbrella of Metro and is described as a “one stop shop” for busy families with multiple children and interests. The studio is described as an elite studio where dancers evolve to become true artists and as a positive studio environment. The Tiny Dancer program is described as being designed to enhance motor, listening, and social skills through dance and movement, and Private Dance Lessons are available if group classes do not fit a dancer’s needs.

Metro Dance Academy’s mission statement says it believes in a positive environment for dancers to work in order to attain their fullest potential. The mission also states that dancers will grow as individuals and as a group, will learn together, and will be supportive of fellow dancers at all times, and that success is the result of mental attitude and the right attitude will bring success in everything a dancer undertakes. The Metro Dance Academy Director is Stephanie Morris, who is the original director and creator of the dance studio, and the Office Manager is Annette McIsaac.
