About

Oregon Child Development Coalition Early Childhood Education Programs provide early childhood care and education services to children, pregnant women, and families. The programs include driving children to school, teaching children to read and write, and visiting families in their homes. OCDC’s classrooms are required to enroll at least 10% of children with identified disabilities or developmental delays.

Oregon Child Development Coalition is a private, non-profit corporation established in 1971. The organization operates early childhood education programs across 15 Oregon counties and reports 4,081 children served, 37 locations, and 411,387 meals served. OCDC serves more than 4,000 children and families and has more than 1,000 employees.

The mission of Oregon Child Development Coalition is to improve the lives of children and families by providing early childhood education, care and championing with unique and supportive services to enhance family growth and community success. OCDC prepares children for school by focusing on early childhood care, education, and teacher development, and provides services that support the workforce and state and local economies. OCDC practices responsiveness by welcoming all cultures and languages and is committed to celebrating and respecting the unique qualities of every individual and community.

OCDC connects families to programs, services, and opportunities in the community and collaborates with dentists, doctors, educators, health care providers, emergency food care providers, school districts, employers, state and local service providers, and key stakeholders. OCDC is committed to creating trauma-informed work environments and services, cultivating and preserving a workforce that reflects its communities, and embedding trauma-informed practices into the development and evaluation of agency priorities, policies, and procedures.

The leadership and coordination team includes multiple program directors and coordinators across Oregon counties, including Raylene Donaldson, Jennifer Heredia, Geoffrey Lowry, Katie Boyle, Connie Venegas, Janie Mendez, Susanna Rempel, Odi Campos, Dorothy Powell, Maria Mottaghian, and Angela Sword. Family support roles include Sarah Cassidy, Chris Collier, Charmaine Tripp, Kristin Dallas, Anna Dawe, and Lisa Dickard in Family Advocate II/III and Family Advocate III positions.
