About

Brass Ring Learning Center offers outdoor play, music, and art as part of its daily activities for children. The program operates as an educationally and developmentally based child care center within a loving, creative environment in which children can learn and grow from infancy through preschool. It is a locally owned and operated early learning and child care company.

• Ages: 6 weeks–12 years old

Founded in 1991, Brass Ring Learning Center has provided care and early education to children from 6 weeks to 12 years for more than 30 years. The program includes an Infant Daycare program for babies from 6 weeks to 12 months of age, a Tweener/Young Toddler child care and early learning program, a Toddler child care program where children explore and discover the world around them and play interactively with other toddlers to teach cooperation and sharing, and a Preschool Daycare program for 3 to 5 year olds to prepare them for entry into kindergarten and help them master the skills they need to enter kindergarten. Program materials describe an overview from six weeks to seven years with specific age-based programs for Infant, Tweener, Toddler, and Preschool.

The mission of Brass Ring Learning Center is to provide families with a high quality child care and early learning experience at an affordable price. The center states that it is educationally and developmentally based, that it nurtures children’s social, emotional and physical growth, and that it provides challenges and educational experiences that nurture and expand upon their developing intellect. Preparing children for educational success is described as the key to everything done at Brass Ring Learning Center. The center also states that it will never sell or distribute email or any information provided to it to anyone at any time.

The educators at Brass Ring Learning Centers are described as highly qualified professionals who are chosen for their warmth, education, and experience. Staff members participate in professional development through ongoing staff development and continuing education courses, and each staff member must complete between six and twelve hours of training per year. Each staff member completes a thorough screening process that includes an application, criminal history background checks by the FBI and PA State Police, child abuse clearances through Pennsylvania Child Line, a complete physical including TB screening, personal and work references, and verification of education. All staff members are certified in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid, and all staff are instructed yearly in fire safety. Brass Ring Learning Center staff undergo rigorous background checks and safety instruction.

Brass Ring Learning Center was voted “Best of the Best” 2021 for daycare and learning centers in South West Allegheny County by Trib Media Live and is a participant in the Keystone STARS “Excellence in Early Education” program. Parent testimonials describe long-term satisfaction with the care their children received over many years, appreciation for the staff’s support and work with individual children, and positive feedback from kindergarten teachers about what children know after attending the program.
