Silver Lake Nature Center Youth Programs include activities such as Yoga in Nature, Nature Crochet Classes, FREE Guided Nature Walks, and an Invasive Plants Removal (“IPR Team”) Project Day. The programs also make use of the Natural Play Area for Kids, walking trails, hands-on exhibits, and options like School Field Trips, Preschool Programs, Birthday Parties, Scout Programs, and other group programs. Additional offerings connected to the youth programs include the Kindness Rock Garden Series, tours of the Earthship, and access to the Barnswallow Gift Shop with nature-related toys, gifts, books, and unique items.

• Price: Auditorium: Cost is $80/hour for Bucks County Residents; $100/hour for Non-residents. Discounts available for Non-profit organizations. Amphitheater: Cost is $80/hour for Bucks County Residents; $100/hour for Non-residents. Discounts available for Non-profit organizations. EARTHSHIP rental: Cost per hour for rental is $30 OR four (consecutive) hours for $100. Group tour of the Earthship & Trails (one-hour) costs $80 for up to 12 people. Picnic Pavilion near Visitors’ Center: rental fee is $80.

The Silver Lake Nature Center Youth Programs operate within Silver Lake Nature Center, a facility of the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation that includes 7 miles of walking trails and a one-acre Natural Play Area for Kids with a sandbox/fossil pit, logs and rocks, and a stream. The Visitors’ Center includes hands-on exhibits and an Auditorium used for activities such as community group meetings, classes, weddings, birthday parties, and other special events, and there is also an Amphitheater and EARTHSHIP building used for meetings, tours, and events. The Earthship has been part of existing programs for about 6 years and was completed in 2015, and free public tours of the Earthship are offered when listed in events.

SLNC’s mission is to inspire connections with nature for people of all ages, interests, and abilities through education, recreation, preservation, research, and advocacy, and Bucks County Parks and Recreation’s mission is to conserve quality open space and offer the community access to recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities while protecting ecosystems. The Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center, a non-profit organization, assists the County by sponsoring all of the programs, providing staff, representing the community’s interest, advocating for the Center, and raising funds to bring interns to SLNC year-round. The SLNC Director is PattiAnn Cutter, and the Bucks County Commissioners are Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia, LCSW (Chair), Robert J. Harvie, Jr. (Vice-Chair), and Gene DiGirolamo (Secretary).
