About

Camp Media Theatre includes activities where campers audition for a musical, rehearse a musical, and perform a musical. Campers learn three songs and three dances, work on acting scenes, create improvised scenes, and take audition technique classes. They also receive rehearsal etiquette instruction, focus on show preparation, and work on learning choreography, music, blocking, and memorization, then put the production on its feet with costumes and props, ending with a final concert performance, an invited dress rehearsal, a ticketed performance, and a pizza party on the final day of camp.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, two-week performance camps and a one-week Off-site Movie Musical Mashup session, with regular camp days between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM and optional Before/After Care
• Price: Before/After Care is an additional $150 for two-week camps and $75 for one-week camps

Performance Camps are two-week camps, with sessions listed as Once Upon A Stage (June 15–26), Finding Nemo Kids (June 29–July 10), Frozen Kids (July 13–24), Musicals That Make 'Em Laugh (July 27–Aug 7), Winnie The Pooh Kids (Aug 10–21), and an Off-site Movie Musical Mashup (Aug 24–28). Camp drop-off is 9:30–10:00 AM and pick-up is 3:30–4:00 PM, and extended care is available for an additional fee, with Before Care from 9:00–9:30 AM and After Care from 4:00–4:30 PM. Campers attending Before or After Care are asked to bring activities to work on independently, and all campers must have completed a full-day kindergarten or preschool program to attend the Once Upon A Stage and Musicals That Make 'Em Laugh camps. All Performance Camps culminate in a 30-minute musical, and all concert camps culminate in a final concert performance, with one invited dress rehearsal for family members at 3:00 PM and one ticketed performance on the final Friday of camp at 5:00 PM for performance camps. Camp registration includes a pizza party on the final day of camp and a Camp Media Theatre T-shirt for concert camps, and Camp Media Theatre offers scholarships for eligible participants. No refunds are issued for educational programs.

The Media Theatre was originally built in 1927 and opened in August 1927, was acquired by Walter M. Strine in 1994, and since 2000 has been managed by the Society for the Performing Arts, The Media Theatre 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The mission of The Media Theatre Company is to promote and nurture imagination, diversity, and joy through musical theatre by producing new and classic works, to be a leader in integrating arts, business, and community, and to encourage and foster the artistic flame through productions and children’s programs while showcasing other artists to the community. The theatre produces three to five musicals each year and hosts educational programming and classes, as well as community events including Candlelight Concerts, ballets, and dance performances produced by FeverUp, and movies shown as part of movie nights. The theatre has received accolades including Broadway World, Barrymore, and Delaware County Daily Times readers poll awards, is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and does not partner with third-party ticket sellers, with tickets available only through its website or Box Office.
