MAC Summer Arts Camp

MAC Youth Programs are part of MAC Youth Programs activities that include arts education classes and youth programs that nurture the next generation of artists. Young people can experience live performances such as professional musicians, spoken word, and protest art, and can connect with art gallery programming linked to events like the Media Film Festival and the Twilight Music Series. The programs are connected to a range of MAC activities, including a summer-long outdoor block party music festival and public art installations that transform shared spaces.

The Media Arts Council, which runs MAC Youth Programs, was founded in 2006 and has been a leader in the Delaware County arts scene since 2006, with its first paid staff person hired in 2010. Its mission is to actively support local artists and integrate a wide range of arts into the life of the entire community. Leadership includes Executive Director Liz McClearn, Artistic Director Jeff Thomas, and Administrative Assistant Raven Amaro, along with a Board of Directors and a Media Film Festival Committee that oversees programs such as the annual international film festival and the annual Media Film Festival focusing on independent short films by local and regional filmmakers. The organization creates opportunities for engagement with local visual and performing artists, champions the arts in Delaware County, infuses Media with public art installations, and invites people to explore programming, volunteer at events, support the mission through donations and sponsorships, and share ideas for future initiatives.
