About

Snapology offers hands-on activities such as animation, robotics, technology projects, and robotics builds using LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and other materials. Children take part in themed challenges including Star Wars Challenge, Engineering Challenge, Robot Challenge, Amusement Park Adventures Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Space Science Explorer, Space Science Adventurer, Inventor, Space Science Investigator, and Digital Movie Master. Activities include building and programming robotic models that move, make sounds, and respond to sensors, designing custom light sabers to withstand several Jedi challenges, learning about mechanical movement through simple machines, physics, and engineering design, writing, directing, and editing movies using LEGO bricks and stop-motion animation software, building robots with simple remotes and sensors to complete different challenges, and building coasters and other rides with motors.

• Ages: 4–14 years old

Snapology states that its STEAM programs teach through building using LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology, and that children learn through play with hands-on, interactive learning activities. The program describes itself as the premier partner for STEAM programs and notes that classes are designed based on research showing that children’s best learning experiences come from actively designing, creating, interacting, and inventing. Snapology offers programs as after-school programs, summer camps, workshops, field trips, birthday parties, assemblies, and custom events, and describes its programs as available in Discovery Centers, classrooms, and community facilities across the globe.

Snapology provides a dedicated Snapologist to teach students as they work in pairs to promote team building. Its mission statement describes Snapology as providing children’s enrichment with year-round STEAM learning programs where instructors use fun, hands-on activities to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, and notes that while children are exploring robotics, coding, and design challenges using LEGO bricks, K’Nex, and technology, they are building skills that will help them throughout school and their careers, and that to kids, it is just fun.

Snapology offers programs for schools, homeschool groups, and scouts, and hosts community-based classes at local facilities and special events for schools and groups. It describes its Girl Scout and Scouts BSA activities as “TOP-RATED” and refers to its scout programs as “top-rated programs,” and notes that programs are tailored to help Girl Scouts work toward specific STEM badges and that Snapology patches are available at an additional cost for scouts who complete programs.
