Here in Chester County, the Coatesville YMCA has been operating since February 27, 1894, marking more than 130 years of history. YMCA Camp Coatesville is part of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy mind, body and spirit for all. The YMCA of Greater Brandywine has been named a Top Workplace by The Philadelphia Inquirer for three years in a row. The organization reports that $2.8 million in financial assistance supports access for families. PM Spark Time from 4–6 PM is free with camp registration, and families who need earlier care can register for AM Spark Time from 7–9 AM. Families can use tools such as Camp Finder, the Coatesville Summer Camp Planner, and the Summer Camp Family Handbook to plan their summer, and can combine specialty half-day camps with Specialty Sidekick Camp for full-day care. Available savings options include a sibling discount, becoming a YMCA member, using a Dependent Care FSA account, applying for income-based membership or financial assistance, registering early, and using PM Spark Time. Weekly themes such as Color Wars, Road Trippin’, and Pirates’ Week guide special activities and adventures throughout the summer.
