Scouting America Capitol Area Council Youth Programs offers youth programs through the Scouting America Capitol Area Council. It has grown over time to support Scouting programs in 15 Central Texas counties: Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, DeWitt, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Hays, Lavaca, Lee, Llano, Mason, Travis, and Williamson. Its stated mission is to prepare boys and girls from all social, economic, and religious backgrounds to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. The council states that Scouting needs many kinds of volunteer help, including roles that work directly with youth members and roles that do not involve actively leading a group of Scouts.
