About
Still Water Camps is a Christ-centered sports, adventure, and leadership camp that includes sports training led by middle school, high school, and college coaches. Campers use spaces such as a kitchen, pavilion, water slide, river, and cabins during camp sessions. The program offers overnight camps, day camps, and family camps.
• Schedule: Overnight camps, day camps, and family camps
In October of 2001, Still Water Camps was formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and in July of 2002 it held its first camp, a boys football camp in Medina, Texas. The founder and part of the leadership team is Matt Moehrig, also known as Coach Mo. The mission of Still Water Camps is to share the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ through evangelistic and discipleship-focused initiatives in partnership with the local body of Christ. The program states that it provides safe, diverse environments to share the truth of the Gospel and brings together kids from many different backgrounds for first-time experiences in adventure and the love of Christ. Still Water Camps offers scholarships to approximately 50% of campers, with about 30% funded internally and 20% funded externally, so that finances are not a hindrance to any student attending camp.
One testimonial from Jessica Castro says, “During cabin time, I realized that I didn’t have to face my problems alone. Because of people at Still Water, I was able to realize that I need to lean on God during those difficult times.” Another testimonial from Susan Gerfers says, “It’s such a joy to be able to watch kids grow and be able to help them with their walk with Jesus. We love Still Water!”
