Still Water Camps

Still Water Camps offers sports training, adventure activities, leadership camp experiences, and a football camp. Sports training at Still Water Camps is led by middle school, high school, and college coaches. Camp facilities include a kitchen, pavilion, water slide, river access, and cabins for campers.

Still Water Camps was formed as a nonprofit in October 2001, and in July 2002 they held their first camp, a boys football camp in Medina, Texas. The founder and part of the leadership team is Matt Moehrig, also known as Coach Mo. Still Water Camps describes itself as a Christ-centered sports, adventure, and leadership camp and as a Texas Youth Camp Program. The mission of Still Water Camps is: “Still Water Camps create safe, diverse environments to share the truth of the Gospel through evangelistic and discipleship-focused initiatives to build community and transform lives.” The organization states that it shares the life-changing truth of Jesus Christ through evangelistic and discipleship-focused initiatives in partnership with the local body of Christ. Still Water Camps reports that it provides scholarships for approximately 50% of campers (30% internally and 20% externally) so that finances are not a hindrance to any student attending camp and that it brings together kids from every type of background in a setting where they can all have first time experiences together both in adventure and the love of Christ. One parent testimonial from Susan Gerfers says, “It’s such a joy to be able to watch kids grow and be able to help them with their walk with Jesus. We love Still Water!”
