School Age Care (SAC) – Fort Bliss School Age Centers offers out-of-school time care that includes homework support and engaging technology experiences. The program offers a club-like environment with options such as art, STEM, music, and fitness, along with daily physical activity and nutritious snacks. During Summer Camp, the program offers full-day care with enrichment, recreation, hands-on learning, field trips, theme weeks, and special events, with a focus on fun, exploration, and building friendships.
• Ages: 6–12 years old
• Schedule: Out-of-school time care before school, after school, and on school-out days, with Summer Camp running for 10–12 weeks and weekday hours available at both centers
School Age Care (SAC) provides out-of-school care for children and youth ages 6–12 in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. SAC is a place where children grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically outside of school hours. The program encourages positive youth development by giving children chances to make choices, take on leadership roles, and collaborate with peers. Some SAC programs may also include kindergarten age children, and homeschool students are able to join in certain activities. SAC provides care after the school day, during early release days, and on winter, spring, and summer breaks, and offers out-of-school time care before school, after school, and on school-out days. The Summer Camp program maintains the same standards of safety and quality as the school-year programs and focuses on fun, exploration, and building friendships. Bliss School Age Center operates Monday–Friday from 5:30am–8:00am and 3:00pm–6:00pm, and Milam School Age Center operates Monday–Friday from 5:30am–6:00pm, with both centers closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal Holidays.
DFMWR integrates and delivers Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs and services that enable readiness and resilience for a globally-responsive Army.
