Fort Bliss CYS Youth Sports Plex offers a range of activities, including Winter volleyball, the Jingle Dash, Coed Winter Basketball, Coed 3x3 Basketball, Coed Fall Soccer, USATF Cross Country, 2025 Summer Camps, and Homeschool P.E. The program also works with Youth Sports Volunteer Coaches for its activities.
• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday with daytime and early evening hours; closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays.
• Price: The first child of a volunteer coach plays for free and each additional child receives half-price registration.
The Youth Sports Program states that it strives to develop the overall well-being of young people, particularly the mind and body, and to provide the opportunity for recreational pleasure, physical development, and good sportsmanship. Team sports at Fort Bliss CYS Youth Sports Plex compete on Fort Bliss and in El Paso youth leagues, and teams are formed based on the number of participants and the age of the youth. In order to participate in any sports with Youth Sports Plex, children must be enrolled with CYS and have an updated physical on file.
Coaches at Fort Bliss CYS Youth Sports Plex must be certified by NYSCA. Parents are required to attend a sportsmanship class prior to registration and must present their sportsmanship card at the time of registration, and the sportsmanship card is valid for one year. Participation in the Youth Sports and Fitness program requires viewing the “Sportsmanship in Youth Sports” video and completing a questionnaire.
All volunteers, including therapists, college students, foster grandparents, contractors, and foreign nationals, regardless of hours, must have background checks completed before working in the room or coaching. Foreign nationals must supply a Letter of Good Conduct from their home country with the background check request.
