U.S. Softball Academy states its mission as “Building Better Players” and provides young players with a unique opportunity to take their game to the next level. The program is described as the nation’s largest network of softball camps, hosting in more than 100 cities across the country. It offers age-specific sessions with instruction tailored for each ability level, with sessions offered through age 18 in the winter/spring program and through 14 in the summer program. Camps focus on all facets of the game with an emphasis on teaching proper fundamentals and techniques, and drill progressions focus on developing good habits while improving overall softball skills. Players of all ability levels are challenged with specific skill instruction and drill work throughout the 4-day camps.

During the summer, the full-day program focuses on skill instruction in the morning and situational baseball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series in the afternoon. Another camp format features instruction during the morning on hitting and defense, with an afternoon session focusing on situational softball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series. The summer program focuses on development in hitting, pitching, and fielding in a fun-filled environment.

An average session includes about 30 players with six or seven experienced and professionally trained coaches, creating a low player-coach ratio and individual attention in a small-group atmosphere. At U.S. Softball Academy Spring Training, players learn from some of the area’s top high school and college coaches, and players learn from coaches from the local area at each location. Each location follows the same itinerary of drills, a low player-coach ratio, and a teaching staff of coaches from the local area.
