About

Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley – Kids Camps includes activities such as walking trails, a low ropes course, swimming, and sand volleyball. The program also uses on-site lodging and a chapel and is part of a broader setting that hosts children and youth camps as well as adult spiritual retreats and events. Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley sits on more than 60 acres and offers kids camps alongside these other retreat programs.

The program is led by Director Beth Palmer, who brought new aims and initiatives to Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley in early 2019. The mission of Light on the Hill is to love God and love neighbors by sharing Jesus and the hope that He brings, to make a difference. Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley is a Texas nonprofit corporation recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley is a 501c3 organization that offers community-based support and outreach services to Kerrville, Texas and the greater Hill Country, including six surrounding counties, with Christian outreach, services, support, and resource access. Its community work includes food relief and connections to resources, education, counseling, health care, and other services to underserved needs in the greater Kerrville community, including the Mega Drive Thru Pantry & Mustard Seed Food Program and Resource Connections that link community members to support. The site also serves as a Hub of Hope and an outreach center and facility for gathering, recreational, spiritual, volunteer, and support activities, and it maintains the KERRKIND Directory, which lists available resources in Kerr County and surrounding areas. Mercy Chefs is partnering with Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley to establish a Beacon of Hope Kitchen as part of long-term disaster relief efforts in the Texas Hill Country following recent floods. Light on the Hill is a funded partner of Methodist Healthcare Ministries, and Director Beth Palmer attends KERR TOGETHER coordination meetings with local organizations to coordinate relief efforts.
