Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley – Kids Camps offers activities that include walking trails, a low ropes course, swimming, and sand volleyball. The program is part of a broader setting that includes kids camps and adult spiritual retreats.
Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley – Kids Camps is led by Director Beth Palmer. In early 2019, a new aim and group of initiatives was launched with energy from Director Beth Palmer. The mission of Light on the Hill is to love God and love neighbors by sharing Jesus and the hope that He brings, to make a difference. Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley is a Texas nonprofit corporation recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley offers Christian outreach, services, support, and resource access, along with kids camps and adult spiritual retreats. It also offers food relief and pantry services, including a Mega Drive Thru Pantry and the Mustard Seed Food Program, as well as resource connections for the community. The site functions as an outreach center and provides facilities for gathering, recreational, spiritual, volunteer, and support uses, and is part of a “Hub of Hope” providing community resources. Light on the Hill maintains the KERRKIND Directory, which lists available resources in areas such as emergency needs, children and youth, missionary work, clothing, counseling, food assistance, housing, medical needs, transportation, and veterans’ services.
Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley is a funded partner of Methodist Healthcare Ministries. Mercy Chefs is partnering with Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley to establish a “Beacon of Hope Kitchen” as part of long-term disaster relief efforts in the Texas Hill Country following recent floods. Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley offers a range of community-based support and outreach services to Kerrville, Texas, and the greater Hill Country, including the six surrounding counties. KERR TOGETHER is a united organization of several local entities, and Director Beth Palmer attends coordination meetings to coordinate relief efforts.
