McAllen Youth Soccer Association offers organized soccer practice for youth teams. The program uses scheduled practice times that are monitored and assigned by the association. Teams reserve practice times through the association office.
• Schedule: Office Hours Monday–Friday 10:00am–3:00pm
The Parks and Recreation Department permits McAllen Youth Soccer Association teams to use the De Leon Soccer Complex for a limited amount of soccer practice time. Spring schedules are posted, and teams are allowed only one practice day per week per team on the De Leon fields. Field space is for practice only, with no scrimmages allowed during the week, and each practice is limited to a one-hour block. Nights are assigned by age groups, and time slots are limited and assigned on a first-come basis. If any team is excluded from practice due to lack of available times, that team is given first priority on the next bi-weekly schedule. McAllen Youth Soccer Association monitors all teams using the De Leon fields for practice and assigns specific field space to each team, with teams using only half a field. All teams are responsible for cleaning their practice area and disposing of water bottles and trash. Reservations for practice time must be made by calling the McAllen Youth Soccer Association office, and all teams and coaches risk losing access to the De Leon soccer fields if they are found in violation of any of these rules.
