McAllen Youth Soccer Association (MYSA)

McAllen Youth Soccer Association organizes team soccer practices that follow specific rules for how often teams can practice, how long each practice lasts, and how field space is used. Teams practice in one-hour blocks, use only half a field, and follow limits on the number of practice days and the types of activities allowed during the week.

• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday, 10:00am–3:00pm

The Parks and Recreation Department permits McAllen Youth Soccer Association teams to use the De Leon Soccer Complex for a limited amount of soccer practice time. A bi-weekly schedule gives interested teams one practice time slot per week, with time slots assigned on a first-come basis. If a team cannot be scheduled because all times are taken, that team is given first priority on the next bi-weekly schedule. Each team is allowed only one practice day per week, and each practice is limited to a one-hour block. Field space is for practice only, and no scrimmages are allowed during the week. McAllen Youth Soccer Association teams are expected to use only half a field for practice, and nights are assigned by age groups. Reservations for practice times must be made by calling the McAllen Youth Soccer Association office. All teams are responsible for cleaning up their practice area, including disposing of water bottles and trash, and all teams and coaches risk losing access to the De Leon Soccer Fields if they are found in violation of any of these rules.
