Musical Living Academy has been operating for over 12 years. The founder and piano instructor, Edelir Garza, has over 20 years of experience in private piano instruction and holds a degree in music education. The leadership team includes Edelir Garza (Founder | Piano Instructor), Christian Davila (Piano Instructor | Programs Director), and Raquel Hernandez (Studio Coordinator). The majority of the instructors hold music degrees, are actively pursuing them, or have extensive performing experience. The academy states the mission “Engage the Mind. Express the Heart.” and describes its mission as fostering a lifelong passion for music by engaging the mind and expressing the heart through comprehensive music education, empowering students of all ages to develop their talents, embrace creativity, and achieve personal growth, while cultivating a supportive community where music becomes a transformative force in the lives of students and their families. The academy notes that a quality instrument at home is considered non-negotiable for student success and should be properly sized, tuned, in good working condition, and allow students to accurately practice what is being taught in lessons. The academy emphasizes integrating technology and personalized learning into its programs, promotes a holistic approach to music education, and integrates servant leadership into personal and professional life according to the founder. Edelir Garza collaborates with Alamo Music Center in San Antonio to provide RGV families with another option for purchasing high-quality musical instruments.
