About
Acting Company for Excellence (ACE) is a North Texas Performing Arts Youth Membership Program in which students take part in acting, singing, dancing, performing, and auditioning. Members also participate in leadership skills development and can be involved in stage management, lighting design, set design, costume design, and presenting curtain speeches. The program includes options for student interning for camp experiences, Collegiate Pursuits and Pursuits workshops and intensives, and an annual ACE trip centered around performing arts related activities such as those listed for New York City, Disney World, Chicago, or Los Angeles.

Acting Company for Excellence (ACE) represents a group of 6–12th grade artists invested in the Pursuit of Excellence at North Texas Performing Arts. Members are selected based on level of experience, talent via audition, and maturity, and students in grades 6–12 can audition for ACE at any Pursuits audition or Conservatory audition call, with a Conservatory audition at NTPA Academy also counting as an ACE entry audition. Junior ACE eligibility is for 6–8th grade students, and ACE eligibility is for 9–12th grade students, with 6–8th Grade Jr. ACEs having exclusive access to Collegiate Pursuits training through Jr. ACE-only Pursuits workshops and intensives, and 9–12th Grade ACEs having exclusive access to early enrollment for Collegiate Pursuits workshops and intensives. ACE membership is listed in every youth theatre playbill, and members have exclusive eligibility to earn tuition credit by serving as student interns for all camp experiences, with intern hours redeemable to cover up to 50% of production tuition and hours expiring each year on May 31. Members also have exclusive student participation in presenting curtain speeches for any NTPA youth theatre production when an ACE is on-hand, access to free tickets for NTPA youth theatre productions (up to $15) with a unique ACE code on an as-available basis, exclusive access to an annual ACE trip as scheduled, ACE/JACE gatherings and fun events, and free 1-on-1 audition feedback sessions after completing any Collegiate Pursuits audition. The program requires attendance at virtual ACE meetings held quarterly and at the annual induction ceremony every January. North Texas Performing Arts states its mission as being dedicated to developing the character of youth through performing arts education and family entertainment, and the Ten Characters of North Texas Performing Arts taught to students are Teamwork, Leadership, Responsibility, Respect, Self-Confidence, Integrity, Discipline, Gratitude, Positive Attitude, and Love One Another. The 2023 ACE trip is scheduled as a cruise June 25–July 2, 2023 out of Galveston.
