Y Afterschool & Preschool at the Y includes activities such as swimming, gymnastics, soccer, journalism, cake decorating, art projects, and dancing. The preschool program includes enrichments in swimming, gymnastics, and soccer, along with other classroom activities.
• Ages: 0–11 years old
• Schedule: Preschool office and child care are open Monday–Friday from 7am–6pm; Afterschool office hours are Monday–Friday from 7am–6pm, with program hours from school release to 6:30pm for Williamson County ISDs and from school release to 6:00pm for Burnet County and Waco ISDs; an All Day Out program runs 7am–6pm.
The program includes an infant/toddler nursery, meals and snacks provided, newly renovated classrooms, one indoor playground, and two outdoor playgrounds. Y Afterschool & Preschool at the Y provides afterschool care for grades K–5th and preschool for infants through 5 years. The All Day Out program is intended for participants enrolled in the Afterschool program at any of the Williamson County or Burnet County ISD schools.
Preschool at the Y is a program of the YMCA of Central Texas and upholds the heritage, tradition, and values of the Y throughout its program activities. The YMCA of Central Texas’ Licensed Child Care Department is the largest provider of child care in Williamson County. Partnerships with school districts, community businesses, and well trained staff are described as the “people behind the Y” who keep these programs strong each year.
The afterschool leadership team includes Brian S, Vice President, Youth Development; Rachel W, District Executive Director; Carla A, District Executive Director; Erik M, Associate Executive Director; Zachary Y, Associate Executive Director; and Zach D, Youth Development Sr. Business Manager. Preschool at the Y staff includes Melissa C, Director of CDC – Round Rock, and Chelsey R, Interim Director CDC.
