About

PTA Reflections is a National PTA arts program in which students create original works in areas such as dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, performing arts, and visual arts. Students submit their work in one or more of these arts areas in response to an annual student-created theme.

• Ages: 4–18 years old

For over 50 years, Reflections has involved students in exploring their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, developing artistic literacy, increasing confidence and finding a love for learning. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students in pre-K through grade 12 take part by creating original works of art based on the yearly theme, including the 2026–2027 theme, “What My Culture Means to Me.” Students participate in grade-based divisions: Primary (Pre-K–Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3–5), Middle School (Grades 6–8), and High School (Grades 9–12), and an Accessible Arts division is available as an optional pathway for students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA Section 504, with division-specific accommodations. The program is open to students of all grades and their parents and caregivers, and registration for the 2026–2027 PTA Reflections program is now open.

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education, and its mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. National PTA congratulates the more than 200 students who earned national-level awards for their artwork inspired by the 2025–2026 Reflections theme, “I Belong!” Dr. William (Bill) Datema will serve as president of National PTA until June 2029.
