Engineering For Kids of Northern Virginia offers after-school programs, evening classes, camps, birthday parties, and special events that focus on Robotics, Interactive Engineering, Technology & Coding, Minecraft, and Esports. Program options include space-themed STEM experiences such as Mission to Mars, Missions & Mechanics (Mechanical Engineering Summer Program), Orbiters and Landers (Aerospace Engineering Summer Program), Survival on the Red Planet (Multidisciplinary Engineering Summer Program), Mission to Mars with Minecraft (Minecraft Technology Summer Program), and Robotic Mission to Mars (Robotics Summer Program). Activities in these programs include building a robo-arm, taking core samples from a potato, attempting to land an egg, designing and building a physical prototype of a Mars base, building with Lego SPIKE, and programming robots.

Engineering For Kids of Northern Virginia is part of Engineering For Kids, which began in 2009 and has grown into a global family with over 90 locations across 23 countries and has reached more than 350,000 students. The mission of Engineering For Kids is to inspire kids ages 4 to 14 to build on their desire for answers by exploring engineering concepts in a fun, hands-on way. The program uses EFK's Engineering Design Process and incorporates Minecraft as a simulation tool with a custom Mission to Mars Minecraft Map, along with Lego SPIKE for robotics, in programs that are designed to elevate classroom learning and provide real-world STEM applications. Engineering For Kids is STEM.org accredited and Cognia certified.
