School Age Child Care (SACC)

School Age Child Care (SACC) offers before-school and after-school care on school days, as well as full-day Winter, Spring, and Summer programs. The program includes Beyond the Bell, a before- and after-school pilot program at 20 Fairfax County Public Schools elementary sites. SACC programs at Key and Kilmer Centers serve youth with multiple types of disabilities, and children with special needs are fully included in all SACC centers.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Care available Monday–Friday before school from 7 a.m. until school begins, after school from the end of the school day until 6:15 p.m., plus full-day Winter, Spring, and Summer programs
• Price: SACC offers a sliding fee scale for income eligible families.

The SACC program states, “Welcome to the SACC Program – a great place to be a child!” Chris Scales serves as the Division Director. Comprehensive health and safety protocols are followed at all locations. Beyond the Bell locations operate under an exemption from Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) licensure, enabling NCS to expand enrollment while continuing to uphold best practices and the highest standards of child care.
