About
McLean Community Center Youth & Family Programs offers fun games for kids, family activities, online courses, and performing arts. The program’s activities include events such as the Summer Concert Series: Uptown, Summer Concert Series: Koo Koo, the Fall Community Parking Lot Sale, and the OFC Block Party.
• Schedule: Box Office Hours: Saturdays 3-7 p.m.; Sundays 12-4 p.m.; open one hour before every performance.
• Price: Residents must select the resident price from the drop-down menu when selecting seats to receive the resident discount. Phone sales incur convenience charges. Convenience fees are non-refundable. All patrons residing within the MCC tax district are eligible for discounts on all Alden-sponsored events. Senior (60+) discounts are available.
McLean Community Center (MCC) provides family fun, events and educational programs for residents of McLean, Virginia. The McLean Community Center is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. An all-volunteer board sets goals and aligns strategies for MCC programs and facilities, including the Robert Ames Alden Theatre and the Old Firehouse Teen Center. McLean Community Center has partnered with AMS Planning and Research to establish the center’s new strategic plan. Refunds are available for ticketed events at The Alden up to 48 hours before showtime, and if a performance is canceled, an Alden staff member will contact patrons by email or phone to explain how refunds will be processed. All persons entering the theatre must have a ticket, including infants and small children, and a no standing room policy is strictly enforced.
The Alden is fully ADA compliant and will make arrangements for reasonable accommodations. The Alden is equipped with an infrared audio system for those who are hearing impaired. Open wheelchair spaces are available with adjacent companion seating, and transfer seating is available in rows B, D, F, and H with adjacent companion seating. Seat cushions are available at all performances and are very popular at shows for children and families. Weighted lap pads, fidget stones, and over the ear headphones are available in the box office by request, and patrons are welcome to bring their own comfort items to performances, though they are asked not to bring in light-up or sound-making devices.
Financial assistance is available for Dranesville Small District 1A residents in need in order to attend MCC-sponsored programs and activities. When registering for a class or purchasing tickets to an Alden Theatre performance, patrons can request to receive a subsidy by writing to [email protected], and for purposes of public accountability, MCC will ask that they sign an affidavit to document their stated need.
