Legacy School of Dance Summer Programs

Legacy School of Dance Summer Programs include summer dance classes, summer dance camps, and summer dance intensives that focus on exploring different styles of dance, choreography, and technique. The 6-Week Summer Dance Program meets once a week and ends with an in-studio performance. Across the summer, dancers can take classes in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Tap, and more.

• Schedule: 6-week summer dance program meeting once a week, plus one-week summer dance camps and one-week summer dance intensives with daily hours ranging from 8 a.m.–noon or 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

Legacy School of Dance was founded in 2010 and is entering its 16th season. The program offers classes for all ages, styles of dance, and experience levels, including a Legacy Littles program for the youngest dancers and seven levels in the advanced technique program with class placements tailored to experience and goals. Summer Dance Camps are offered for ages 5–10 years old, and four Summer Dance Intensives are offered for ages 8 and older. The studios have sprung oak floors, Marley surfaces, and professional-grade barres and mirrors.

Legacy’s mission states, “Every dancer deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated,” and the school states that it believes dance is more than movement and that it builds more than technique, shaping confidence, discipline, and creativity. The environment is described as inclusive and supportive, welcoming dancers from all walks of life and embracing all body types, skill levels, and styles, with a balanced mix of performance, competition, and community opportunities in a family-first setting.

Highly qualified, award-winning instructors lead Legacy’s nationally recognized Competition Dance Team (LCDT), which offers multiple team levels and provides elite training in a character-driven environment. LCDT performs locally, competes along the East Coast, and has earned awards such as Studio of Excellence, Choreography, and Apogee Awards. One parent, Brooke H., says, “We love Legacy, the staff is wonderful, and the way they do the recitals is perfect when you have little kids.
