The Cathy Hudgins Community Center (CHCC) Advisory Council was established on May 17, 2002, and the center was renamed in honor of Supervisor Catherine Hudgins on May 4, 2021. The Advisory Council was established by the Board of Supervisors to advise the director and provide input and feedback on social, recreational, and educational programs and activities at the center. The professional and creative staff collaborate daily to share program ideas and align services with the needs and interests of the community, and the center offers recreational, cultural, and educational programs for youth, adults, and seniors, along with access to county and community resources. The mission of the Cathy Hudgins Senior Center is to engage with older adults in the community and provide a supportive environment that encourages them to be active physically and mentally. The youth programs provide a safe space for 1st through 12th graders to socialize and work on academics in a structured environment. The center will be closed from August 16, 2025, through January 2026 due to renovations and HVAC replacement, while the courts will remain open. All NCS Community, Senior, and Teen Centers serve as warming and cooling centers during extreme weather, and visitors using the center for warming or cooling services do not have access to programming or classes unless they are current registered members. A noon meal is provided on weekdays to senior center members who register, and transportation may be available for senior center members. Chris Scales serves as Division Director.
