Cathy Hudgins Community Center Youth Programs include activities such as basketball, table tennis, pickleball, ping pong, billiards, cards, board games, bingo, and gardening. The programs also offer art classes such as acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and craft classes, as well as access to a computer lab for computer and smart device classes. Youth can also take part in daily age-appropriate fitness classes such as line dancing, yoga, strength training, and aerobics, and spend time in dedicated spaces such as the Art Room, Computer Lab, and Teen Room.

• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday–Thursday with program hours from 9 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.–10 p.m., and Saturday from noon–10 p.m.

The Cathy Hudgins Community Center Youth Programs operate within a larger community center that also offers activities such as yoga, pickleball, badminton, Zumba, an arthritis class, SAIL, seated and standing Tai Chi (18 movements), ESOL class, and Tot Time. The center provides recreational, cultural, and educational programs for youth, adults, and seniors, and hosts community events, meetings, educational classes, and social gatherings. The professional and creative staff collaborate daily to share program ideas and align services with the needs and interests of the community, and Therapeutic Recreation Services works alongside other staff to provide services and programs for individuals of all abilities. The center is part of a network of NCS Community Centers that serve as warming and cooling centers during extreme weather events, and visitors using the center for warming or cooling services must be registered members to access programming and classes.

The Cathy Hudgins Community Center (formerly Southgate Community Center) was renamed in honor of Supervisor Catherine Hudgins on May 4, 2021, and its Advisory Council was established on May 17, 2002, by the Board of Supervisors. The Cathy Hudgins Community Center (CHCC) Advisory Council advises the director and provides input and feedback on social, recreational, and educational programs and activities at the center. Chris Scales serves as Division Director.
