About
STEM Programs are part of the YMCA of Greater Richmond’s Learn programs, which offer academic enrichment, STEM, and literacy support. These programs are included in a broader range of offerings that serve toddlers through seniors.
• Price: Preferred program prices (up to 50% discounts compared to non-members).
Since 1854, the YMCA of Greater Richmond has strengthened individuals, families, and communities across 16 locations. Its mission is “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.” The YMCA of Greater Richmond is a non-profit organization that is open to all people and committed to social responsibility, with a Strategic Plan 2025 guiding programs and services in youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. It has community partnerships and welcomes opportunities to add organizations to its team of dedicated organizations looking to better their community.
Members receive unlimited access to all 16 locations across the RVA region, unlimited access to all group exercise classes with reservation via app, and access to YMCAs across the country as part of the Nationwide Program. Membership includes complimentary Child Watch services for any active member (6 weeks–11 years old) on the account, and offers health and wellness programs and services tailored to fit member needs. There are no contracts, no join fees, and access to income-based memberships, and programs are available for every age from toddlers to seniors.
Parent testimonials describe friendly and welcoming staff, a variety of programs and resources such as pools and a large number of weights, and Child Watch with a separate area for smaller babies away from older children, with lots of space to play and secure procedures. One parent notes that Child Watch brings peace of mind while attending a workout class, and another highlights the consistency and versatility of water-aerobics-based programs and the ability to attend back-to-back classes.
