Virginia Repertory Theatre is one of the largest performing arts organizations in Central Virginia and is headquartered in downtown Richmond. It recently celebrated the 70th anniversary of its founding in Hanover County in 1953 as Barksdale Theatre. Its mission is to entertain, challenge and uplift communities through the power of live theatre. Virginia Rep is a member of Theatre Communications Group (TCG), National New Play Network (NNPN), and the Richmond Performing Arts Alliance (RPAA).
