Instructors are all 18 or older, have safety and skills training, and are described by Avid4 Adventure as insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring and working with kids. Avid4 Adventure states that it recruits, hires, and trains high-class outdoor educators, hires committed and experienced instructors, and is 100% committed to paying educators a fair wage. The leadership team includes founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and has 25 years of experience in the outdoor education industry.

Avid4 Adventure describes its mission as giving kids a love of outdoor activity and supporting future caretaking of the planet, and states that it believes in the transformative power of the outdoors. The organization says its camps give kids a place to start and room to grow in a wide range of adventure sports, and that it teaches a new generation of adventurers to thrive in the outdoors. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service, is a Certified B Corp, has summer camps accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps.

The program groups campers by grade range, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities with support from staff and returning campers, and 5th–7th graders focusing on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Every activity starts with a discussion about risks, prevention, and response, and campers learn about local flora and fauna and Leave No Trace principles. Campers can bring their own bikes or borrow from Avid4 Adventure’s fleet, which accommodates campers of any size, and they get access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily, and Avid4 Adventure provides transportation to and from recreation areas for the adventure sports.

Avid4 Adventure states that every day is a new adventure with activities calibrated to age and ability, that its one-week Adventure summer camp centers on authentic local settings, and that it organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas. The organization says programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17, including up to their first summer job, and that it believes in empowering kids of all ages from PreK–12. Multiple sessions are promoted as resulting in greater skill development, increased self-confidence, higher levels of risk assessment and environmental awareness, and improved ability to connect socially and make new friends.

The camp is led by outdoor instructors described by Avid4 Adventure as the best around and is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee. Avid4 Adventure promises an authentic outdoor adventure, well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence for campers, and states that if it does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. Discounts and promotions include a multi-session/sibling discount of $25 off per session after the first, a referral program that gives friends $50 off their first camp and provides the referrer a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp after purchase, and a $65 service discount for qualifying professions.

Parent testimonials describe children learning stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking, including learning to ride a bike without training wheels during camp, and refer to Avid4 Adventure staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with kids. Other testimonials note that campers were active every day, learned new outdoor skills, and continued talking about camp weeks later.
