About
The HUB 360 After-School Program includes time for school work, learning about healthy living, playing a variety of sports, and having a snack. The program combines food, caring, mentoring, and rigorous physical exercise as part of its daily routine.
• Ages: 11–14 years old
• Schedule: Serves 6–8th graders after-school on school days
• Price: There is no fee for these students to attend the HUB 360 program.
The stated goal of the HUB 360 After-School Program is to provide a safe place for students to be part of a community and to build a well-rounded person through enrichment, physical activity, and academic study. The program was developed to address a trend identified by numerous nationwide studies that have identified the hours from 3:00–6:00pm on school days as the most dangerous for middle school students, especially for latchkey kids. It currently collaborates with schools from Central Valley School District, where administrators and counselors help identify students and families that would benefit from the program. Students from local high schools and colleges volunteer to mentor the middle school students, and community businesses and individuals share their expertise in skills, trades, industries, and talents with the students.
