The Young Dancer Program uses Dance Studio Pro for enrollment and account management, including support for families with multiple dancers. Free trial classes are available. All dress codes are genderless, and all shoes, including hip hop shoes, must be indoor only. Parents are asked to review the dress code for each child’s classes and send dancers in one of the listed attire options. Dancers are asked not to arrive more than 10 minutes early and must be picked up on time. Teachers ensure that all Creative Movement, Combo, and Level 1–2 students are connected with a trusted caregiver before returning to the classroom. Masks are optional, and proof of vaccination is not required, and an eXit SPACE COVID-19 Tracker spreadsheet is available to all community members.
The Young Dancer Program is part of eXit SPACE, which states a mission to cultivate a supportive and enriching community where dancers of all ages can discover or rediscover the power of dance. eXit SPACE states that it was created to be a safe and supportive environment where students can discover or re-discover dance as a positive force and that it leads the way in equitable education, opportunity, performance, and artistic exploration. eXit SPACE values, respects, and supports students of all orientations and backgrounds, and all dress codes are genderless. eXit SPACE offers several programs for financial assistance, including payment plans, work study positions, and scholarships for BIPOC and young dancers.
The Young Dancer Program is led within an organization whose leadership team includes Artistic Director Marlo Martin, Office Administrator Alex Goldstein, and Facilities Manager/Studio Rentals staff member Christin Olyano.
