Mode Music Studios

Mode Music Studios offers private music lessons with working professional musicians. It also offers Rock Band classes and weekly rock bands, Rock Band Summer Camps, MMPA Summer Camps, Tiny Musicians/Tiny Modes, group classes at MMPA, and weekly makeup lesson group classes.

Programs

• Private music lessons — all ages and skill levels · in-person or online; weekly lessons; 25- or 55-minute increments; limited 55-minute bi-weekly lesson times available upon request; in-home weekly lessons in 45- or 60-minute blocks · $40–$90 per class · One-on-one lessons with working professional musicians; in-studio and online options; tiered pricing varies by teacher tier.
• Rock Band classes / weekly rock bands — students ages 6-12 and 13+ · weekly practice; Monday through Friday for summer camps · $105–$130 per month · Students can join a mode house band and be mentored by professional, working musicians; available to existing Mode students and those not enrolled at Mode.
• Rock Band Summer Camps — students ages 6-12 and 13+; additional afternoon options for students aged 13-18 available upon request · week-long camps; Monday through Friday; ages 6-12 rehearse 9:00am-12:00pm; ages 13 and up rehearse 12:30pm-2:30pm · $350–$425 · Campers rehearse, work on existing material and/or write original songs, and perform the Saturday after camp.
• MMPA Summer Camps — kids aged K-8th grade; new camps for 6th-8th graders; middle school campers meet two days a week in the afternoon for 4 weeks · week-long camps; Monday through Friday; morning and afternoon options; middle school campers meet two days a week in the afternoon for 4 weeks
• Tiny Musicians / Tiny Modes — kiddos ages 0-4 years (suggested) · Fridays and Saturdays at 10am and 11am; 45-minute classes · Group classes for little ones with one caretaker; uses original tunes and the music of Caspar Babypants to encourage singing, instrumentation, play and story time.
• Group classes at MMPA — kids Grades PreK-12; classes available in fall through spring · new batch of group classes every season, fall through spring · Classes range from Ukulele to Improv to Pop Choir and more; sliding-scale prices.
• Weekly makeup lesson group classes — students · every other Saturday afternoon · Group makeup classes for missed lessons; students can play and perform for other students and continue to learn their instrument.

About the provider

Mode Music Studios has offered music lessons for all ages and skill levels since 2014, and it began life as Erin Rubin Piano studios. The leadership team includes Erin Rubin, Roger Kelley Rawlings, Dani Kalen, Lydia Mellott, and Ellie Vann. The studio’s mission is “Music for Everyone. Creating opportunity for young musicians to find their voice through private music instruction.” Teachers are working professional musicians in the Seattle area, and the studio offers scholarships for students in need of financial assistance.
