Wedgwood Drama Studio Camps and Classes offers fun theater games, creating and developing one-of-a-kind characters, and exploring expressive movement and scene work. Participants also spend time creating and filming their own stories, along with playground fun, arts and crafts, singing, and dancing.

Wedgwood Drama Studio Camps and Classes is led by Founder and Director Christi Cruz, along with teaching artists Jesica Avellone, Shaunyce Omar, Ana María Campoy, Megan Sandico, Shanelle Leonard, and Pilar O'Connell. Christi holds a BA in Drama and Spanish from the University of Washington, has been a working actor in the Seattle area since 1998, and is a Certified Positive Discipline Parenting Educator. Jesica Avellone has taught acting, playwriting, creative drama, and Shakespeare to elementary and middle school students and holds a BFA from Boston University. Shaunyce Omar is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association and holds a B.A in Theatre from Southern University and A&M College. Megan Sandico holds a B.A in Educational Studies from Western Governors University and has worked in dance education for 10 years. Shanelle Leonard received her BFA in theater and later her masters in acting at UNC in May 2019.
Through Wedgwood Drama Studio, which Christi co-founded in 2008 with her brother Michael, she has brought creative drama programming to numerous NE Seattle schools and co-ops. Wedgwood Drama Studio offers after school programs in neighborhood schools, summer camps, and classes at its studio location in Wedgwood just east of the corner of 95th St and 35th Ave NE. Wedgwood Drama Studio provides Dramatic Arts education programming in the community for young people of all skill levels and abilities and states that a safe and supportive environment to practice drama skills is vital to a young person’s growth and education in the classroom and beyond. Wedgwood Drama Studio is proud to have been a Finalist in Parent Map’s 2019 Golden Teddy Awards in the categories of After School Enrichment and Amazing Arts Camps. The program’s Theater in the Park Summer Camp at Viewridge Park combines creativity, play, and outdoor adventure, and campers create and film their own stories with top-notch teaching artists, including owner and founder Christi Cruz, as part of its Break and Theater in the Park Camps. Families must download, print, complete, sign, and turn in a Release of Liability form for each child for each camp.
