Bamboo Montessori is a bilingual in-home English/Spanish year-round preschool program that describes itself as more than a day care and as a learning environment to foster creativity, emotional wellbeing, and intellect. It is a Spanish bilingual preschool and kindergarten with a maximum of 12 children and one teacher for every six children, and everyday activities integrate Spanish and are based on Dr. Montessori’s philosophy in five academic areas: practical life, sensory perception, language, geography, and science/math. Children learn Spanish through games, songs, music, art projects, and gardening, and the program focuses each month on one human value such as honesty, compassion, kindness, or respect, which is reinforced throughout the month. Bamboo Montessori states that it does not discriminate against race, color, nationality, ethnicity, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, class, age, or religion, and notes that its bilingual native Spanish speaker teacher will only talk in English for safety reasons.

The mission of Bamboo Montessori is to offer an enriched environment that responds to each child’s uniqueness with love, compassion, and respect, to encourage children to develop their maximum potential so that they can be agents for positive change in the world, and to build a Christ-centered community. The leadership team includes Alejandra Paz as Lead Teacher and Sandra Luz Delgado and Hailey Luna as Native Speaker Assistants. Alejandra Paz has a Master’s degree in finance, has earned a teaching degree from AMS, and holds an AMS teaching credential.
