Little Minjas is for ages 5–7 and focuses on building a foundation of self-defense and sport techniques in a fun, engaging environment. Minjas is for ages 8–9 and delves deeper into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, enhancing both self-defense skills and sport-specific techniques. All Minjas is for ages 5–9 in a supportive, mixed-age environment, and Competition Minjas is for ages 5–9 with at least two stripes who are eager to test their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills in a competitive setting. Youth BJJ is tailored for ages 10–15 with a comprehensive approach to self-defense, sport techniques, and physical fitness, and Youth Drilling/Live Rolling is for experienced youth ages 10–15 who have completed 20 or more regular classes, focusing on refining techniques through drilling and applying them in live rolling scenarios.

The program is part of a family focused Jiu Jitsu training facility and a faith-based business rooted in Christ, with an environment where families can learn and train together. The leadership team includes Don and Jennifer, who are described as great and caring people whose family is heavily involved in the training. The stated goal is to help the community grow in strength, character, confidence, and discipline through the martial arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with a belief in the skills of this sport not just for self-defense or competition but also in all aspects of life. Kids Martial Arts classes are described as promoting long-lasting character development tools that can help children thrive at home, in the classroom, and into adulthood, including discipline and respect, leadership and teamwork, incredible self-confidence, and perseverance in the face of any challenge. The program states that it is proud to build the confidence and discipline of young students across Vancouver through the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Parents and students describe the staff as extremely nice, caring, and willing to take time to explain everything until it is understood, and they describe the environment as friendly, clean, and filled with good people. One parent says their 6-year-old has become more coordinated, more confident, and has more self-discipline and respect for himself and others after about a month, and that every day is challenging and ends with a sense of accomplishment. Testimonials describe Emerge Jiu Jitsu as a home away from home, with amazing people to be around, learn from, and communicate with, and recommend it for grounding, channeling, self-defense, or a place to relax, learn, and feel alive.
