The program takes place at a family focused Jiu Jitsu training facility where families can learn and train together. The facility is described as a faith-based business rooted in Christ, with a focus on confidence and discipline of young students, hands-on instruction, and unwavering support. The Competition Minjas class is specifically for kids ages 5–9 with at least two stripes who are eager to test their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills in a competitive setting, and the Youth Drilling/Live Rolling class is for experienced youth ages 10–15 who have completed 20 or more regular classes.

The mission of Emerge Jiu Jitsu is to help the community grow in strength, character, confidence, and discipline through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, both for self-defense or competition and in all aspects of life. The program is described as perfect for students ages 5–9 who want to stay active and make a great group of new friends, and as great for all experience levels. Don and Jennifer are described as great and caring people, and Emerge Jiu Jitsu is described as a place where their family is heavily involved in training as they create an environment where families can learn and train together.

Parents and students describe the staff as extremely nice, caring, and willing to take time to explain everything until it is understood, and they describe the environment as very clean and filled with good people. One parent reports that a 6-year-old child who has been attending for about a month has become more coordinated, more confident, and has more self-discipline and respect for self and others, and that every day is challenging with a sense of accomplishment. Emerge Jiu Jitsu is described as a home away from home, with amazing people to be around, learn from, and communicate with, and as a place for grounding, channeling, self-defense, or a place to relax, learn, and feel alive. The program states that it is proud to build the confidence and discipline of young students across Vancouver through the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
