Camp Gan Israel offers a range of activities that include games, drama, sports, science, swimming, Shabbos parties, Challah baking, and art projects. Campers design and take home art projects under the direction of an experienced crafts instructor. Camp Gan Israel is part of the Chabad Jewish Center of Clark County.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 am–3 pm, in a three-week session from June 29 to July 17
Boys and girls in grades K–6 attend as campers, and grades 7–8 are eligible to be Counselors in Training. The camp is led by Director Chaya Goldman, with counselors Shternie Greenberg, Mussie Greenberg, and Rochie Wolff, and a Head Counselor to be determined. According to the program’s mission statement, Gan Israel is a comprehensive summer camp designed to strengthen the body and soul and to give campers a rich and wholesome summer vacation of fun, excitement, friendship, and meaningful experiences. The mission statement also notes that campers are imbued with a deep sense of pride in their Jewish heritage and a love for the land of Israel, with Judaic themes taught through activities, stories, songs, games, contests, and group discussions that bring to life the beauty and values of Jewish tradition. One parent testimonial states, “No one puts more care into the care of your child.”
