About

Learning Train Academy offers a play-based learning approach that includes hands-on crafts, arts and crafts, creative projects, and coloring. Children take part in active games, movement games, team-building exercises, and unstructured outdoor play, including outdoor discovery and park visits. The program also includes dance, theater, games, and sensory play as part of its activities.

• Ages: 2–12 years old

Learning Train Academy offers programs for children ages 2.5–12 years old, including a bilingual preschool program with both Spanish and English instruction and a Spanish immersion program. The program includes a Summer Explorer Program and a before and after school care program called “Learning Train Academy 2.0.” Learning Train Academy uses a play-based curriculum and a play-based learning approach instead of worksheets and rote memorization, and it features small class sizes and low child-to-teacher ratios.

The staff includes Maestra Ashley (Director), Miss Caitlyn (Kitchen Staff and Floater), Maestra Cynthia (Preschool Teacher), Maestra Lisbeth (Preschool Teacher), and Maestra Flor (Pre-K Teacher). Maestra Ashley is a licensed teacher in Washington and Oregon, is a Montessori-inspired lead educator, and holds a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Learning Train Academy accepts state subsidy, and meals are included with the cost of tuition. The academy has a kitchen where nutritious meals are cooked for children. The stated mission is that every child is capable, curious, and full of potential, and that the program’s mission is to create a nurturing environment where joyful play, meaningful connections, and hands-on experiences come to life.
