About
Learning Train Academy offers a play-based learning approach that includes hands-on crafts, arts and crafts, creative projects, and coloring. Children take part in active games, movement games, team-building exercises, and unstructured outdoor play, including outdoor discovery and park visits. The program also includes dance, theater, games, and sensory play as part of its activities.

Learning Train Academy offers programs for children ages 2.5–12 years old, including a bilingual preschool program with both Spanish and English instruction and a Spanish immersion program. The program includes a Summer Explorer Program and a before and after school care program called “Learning Train Academy 2.0.” Learning Train Academy uses a play-based curriculum and a play-based learning approach instead of worksheets and rote memorization, and it features small class sizes and low child-to-teacher ratios.
The staff includes Maestra Ashley (Director), Miss Caitlyn (Kitchen Staff and Floater), Maestra Cynthia (Preschool Teacher), Maestra Lisbeth (Preschool Teacher), and Maestra Flor (Pre-K Teacher). Maestra Ashley is a licensed teacher in Washington and Oregon, is a Montessori-inspired lead educator, and holds a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Learning Train Academy accepts state subsidy, and meals are included with the cost of tuition. The academy has a kitchen where nutritious meals are cooked for children. The stated mission is that every child is capable, curious, and full of potential, and that the program’s mission is to create a nurturing environment where joyful play, meaningful connections, and hands-on experiences come to life.
