Base Camp is for youth in grades 3–6, and Outpost Camp is for youth in grades 7–9. Youth in grades 9–13 can sign up as camp counselors, and counselor training uses a combination of Zoom and in-person sessions. Camp counselor applications are open from October 17 to January 5, 2026, and Base Camp and Outpost Camp registration runs from March 1 to April 19, 2026. The camp plans for a total camp size of 70–80 youth campers and cooking for about 100 people, with a 1:10 adult-to-youth ratio needed to make camp happen.
During Outpost Camp, some meals are provided and eaten at Kamp Kenwood. If youth choose to participate in Outpost Camp, they cannot be a Base Camp counselor. The camp will pay for lifeguard certification for those interested in becoming a certified lifeguard and helping with camp, and lifeguard interest and camp nurse interest are directed to Seth Harrmann at [email protected]. The camp will have a new cook for this year, and the camp cook position does not require staying overnight. Applicants for the camp cook position are asked to know how to cook for bigger groups such as church groups, schools, camps, or restaurants, and the cooking staff will receive a $500 stipend, which is split if there is more than one paid kitchen staff person.
The program partners with Eau Claire and Dunn County. The University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension states that it provides equal opportunities in employment and programming in compliance with state and federal law. Extension Clark County states that it teaches, learns, leads, and serves by connecting people with the University of Wisconsin and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities. The leadership team notes that the cook’s name is Bryanna and that she makes very yummy food.
