The Big Sisters of Greater Racine Mentoring Program pairs young girls with caring volunteer women and encourages friendships that foster guidance, motivation, and hope. The program operates as part of an enrichment program.
• Price: There is no fee for a Little Sister or her family.
Big Sisters of Greater Racine, Inc. has been serving the greater Racine area since 1968 and was formally constituted in January of 1968. The organization is an independent, non-profit group supported by member dues and gifts from individuals, foundations, organizations, businesses, and churches. It is not funded by United Way and is not affiliated with Big Brothers/Big Sisters or any other Big Brother/Big Sister organization locally or nationally. Big Sisters is an all-volunteer organization with the exception of one part-time paid staff person, and Big Sisters and other adult members are asked to contribute yearly dues. The organization has received grants through the Women’s United Fund provided by the United Way of Racine County.
