Since 1915, Chippewa County 4-H has offered hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and community involvement. Chippewa County 4-H Positive Youth Development is part of Extension’s Positive Youth Development Institute and is based on the four H’s—Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. The mission of Chippewa County 4-H is to foster leadership, citizenship, and life skills through hands-on learning and community involvement, helping youth explore their passions and prepare for the future through experiential learning, youth empowerment, and career readiness. As part of this mission, the program places youth leadership—supported by caring adults, 4-H clubs, and community partners—at the center of its work.

Chippewa County 4-H connects local youth to 4-H, a national program that helps young people develop leadership, citizenship, and life skills, and links them to the largest youth development organization in the country. The program’s community involvement includes clubs that meet in schools or community centers and partnerships with local schools and youth-serving organizations. Many county events are open to youth who are not yet 4-H members, and gifts support local programming coordinated by the 4-H Youth Development Staff. The Leaders Association provides a countywide forum for 4-H youth and adult volunteer leaders, raises funds, and manages a yearly budget to support 4-H programming.

Volunteer roles in Chippewa County 4-H include leading clubs, teaching workshops, helping with events, and mentoring youth, and volunteers must be 18 years old or older. The leadership team includes Jordan Blue, Chippewa County 4-H Program Educator. The University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension provides equal opportunities in employment and programming in compliance with state and federal law.
