Monroe County 4-H includes Cloverbuds in kindergarten through second grade and Regular Members in third grade through the year following high school. The Festival of Arts is scheduled for February 28, 2026. The program is led locally by Jason Hornickel, Monroe County 4-H Educator. Monroe County 4-H describes itself as a group of youth and adult volunteers who strive to make a difference in the county through community service, involvement, and fun, and notes that programs are delivered directly through more than 20,000 adult volunteers in neighborhood 4-H clubs or groups and by collaborating with other local organizations. Its mission statement explains that participants learn with their hands on their projects, find belonging in relationships and the inclusive nature of 4-H, learn independence through decision making and trying new things, work to master new skills and ideas, and practice generosity toward their families, clubs, communities, and the world. The program states that University of Wisconsin-Extension 4-H Youth Development is backed by the knowledge and research base of the University of Wisconsin, and that educators design educational, leadership, and citizenship experiences for youth. It also states that 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills, and that Extension Monroe County teaches, learns, leads, and serves by connecting people with the University of Wisconsin and engaging with them in transforming lives and communities. The University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension provides equal opportunities in employment and programming in compliance with state and federal law.
