Boys & Girls Club of Sparta

The Boys & Girls Club of Sparta offers membership-based programming during the school year and summer, with time set aside on Fridays in the summer for field trips only. During the school year, transportation to the Club is provided by the schools’ bussing system. The program also provides food security, academic resources, and virtual programs.

• Schedule: School-year hours run Monday–Friday in the afternoons, with adjusted hours on Wednesdays and on days when school closes early, and full-day hours are offered on weekdays during the summer season.
• Price: Membership at the Club costs $30.00 per year.

The Boys & Girls Club of Sparta has been a cornerstone of the community since opening its doors in 1995 and serves about 300 youth each year. The organization states that its mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The Club is part of a nationwide Boys & Girls Club network that operates in every state, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and on U.S. military installations overseas. The Boys & Girls Club of Sparta lists Jennifer Simunich as Executive Director, Patty Elsen as Business Manager, Brandi Johnston as Program Coordinator, Danielle Reget as Director of Club Services, Laney Ayala-Sullivan as Community Engagement Coordinator, Ariana Centeno as Mentoring Coordinator, and Kristina Garbers as Education Coordinator. For staffing, the Club prefers candidates who are 18 years or older for camp counselors, sports and recreation program leaders, and mentors, and 16 years or older for program assistants. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and it invites community support to help provide its programs and services to youth in the area.
