YMCA Camp Alexander offers both day camp and resident camp. During the summer, the program provides camp experiences for over 500 youth. Kids can take part in a variety of activities throughout the year, and facility rentals are available to the public. YMCA Camp Alexander is part of the South Wood County YMCA, which also operates three locations in Wisconsin Rapids, Adams, and Port Edwards.

The YMCA has been serving South Wood County since 1957. Its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Annually, over 15,000 individuals participate in YMCA programs, and the organization runs seven before and after school programs that serve nearly 200 families in the community. The leadership team includes Erin Hess (CEO), Tammy Robinson (Chief Financial Officer), Heather Khachani (Executive Director), Izaak Ortiz (Healthy Living & Sports Director), Ian Hess (Aquatics Coordinator), Dave Wittenberg (Aquatics Coordinator), Tracy Vruwink (Sr. Director of Childcare & Community Programs), Cristina Heath (Assistant Childcare Director), Trisha Steinhorst (Camp Director), Mike Vechinski (Maintenance Director), Jacqueline Blum (Member Services & Adventure Center Coordinator), Vicki Kilps (Membership & Adams Coordinator), and Jessa Michie (Director of Mission Advancement & Communications).
